Eye Care
Since removing the crusted mass is not an option in this style, close attention must be paid to the eye care.. When in the worst case scenario a crusted mass is formed, it can only be removed it by soaking this mass and gently removing it without damaging the cords.

Time Frame: Every 2 weeks

Foot Care
Also the removal of the hair between the pads is important with this style, as this hair should be completely removed. The cords on the outside of the foot keep their shape due to normal wear and tear and therefore don’t need trimming to keep the shape. Nails should be as short as possible so that they cannot be caught in a cord when the dog scratches itself.

Sanitary Area
A sanitary clip is not an option in this style, unless the styling pattern allows it, which is only the case with a Poodle in this style. We must remove the hair on the abdomen in order to allow free movement of the hind legs, however this should be restricted to the abdomen between the hind legs and should not be seen from the outside.

Coat Preparation and Coat Removal
In this coat type the cords should be split before the bath. Since the Poodle is the only breed in this style with a pattern, we can safely say that all the clippering on the Poodle should be done prior to the bath.

Coat Removal Primary (before the bath): Only with the Poodle: clippering the pattern
